Description
The Fowler hardened steel machinist square set is designed for student and school use to test the squareness of a workpiece. Hardened steel construction ensures true right angles inside and outside. Beams and blades are ground and lapped for straightness and parallelism. The length of the blade is measured from the inner edge of the beam to the end of the blade. The beam is grooved at the inner corner to provide clearance of burrs and dirt. The set of three squares includes a storage case.
The Fred V. Fowler Company manufactures inspection and measurement instruments such as electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages, and digital scales. The company, founded in 1946, is headquartered in Newton, MA.
